I have been editing Wikipedia for about 5 years and have made more than 26,000 contributions. I have filed numerous SPI reports during that time. In those reports, I have frequently highlighted matching IP geolocation to tie IP addresses to LTAs, so this privilege will most likely prove critical in my long-term effort to counter sockpuppetry. I am heavily involved in counter-vandalism work and have been for a while now (albeit usually in bursts of activity). Mostly RC Patrolling and some pending changes review as well. Counter-vandalism has been the vast majority of all my contributions. I am a rollbacker and a pending changes reviewer. I have a track record of making solid/appropriate reports on AIV and some on SPI as well. TAIV would greatly help me with counter vandalism work. I have read the relevant policy and agree to abide by it. [[User:SI09|SI09]] ([[User talk:SI09|talk]]) 18:44, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Would be extremely helpful for me when dealing with genre warriors and vandals. I have read and agree to the guidelines. FMSky (talk) 13:34, 13 November 2025 (UTC)

- @Rsjaffe: since we’re all still figuring it out here. For editors who have a use for TAIV and are experienced enough to understand, I’ve basically only checked if there are any behavioural red flags (warnings for outing, warnings for harassment). I do think it’s important that TAIV is given out relatively easily to combat abuse. Not going to reverse the decision here, as I’m not sure which way is best. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 19:14, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- I have opened a discussion on the Administrators’ noticeboard. I agree that we’re all still figuring it out, and this will give FMSky the fairest review of their request. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 21:12, 14 November 2025 (UTC)

Hi, rollbacker and pending changes reviewer here. I believe the permission could come in handy on some occasions – rare, but still potentially useful if the time comes. I’ve been following the implementation of temporary accounts and I’m aware of the Foundation’s guidelines associated with this permission. Yacàwotçã (talk) 08:43, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
Done, I’m assigning you the right until Jan next year. If you still feel the need for it, feel free to reapply. Sohom (talk) 08:40, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
I have read and understand the Foundation’s guidelines for this right. I have opened some SPI cases in the past that involved IPs. Regarding this right, I don’t anticipate using it often, but when I come across potential LTA cases, it would be useful to have this right for investigation. Ckfasdf (talk) 05:09, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
My watchlist is littered with TA, with 30% edits are vandalisms, often in the same page, but with different account, e.g. recently. I read and acccept the policies regarding this right. Usually when I run into vanndal IP, I cneck all their contribuutions and very often I find olded unnoticed vandalism. NOw I noo longer can doo this. And this is the sole reason I am requesting this right. —Altenmann >talk 08:26, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
Hello, I am a rollbacker and pending changes reviewer and I actively work on counter-vandalism. Having this permission will allow me to further investigate IPs if situation necessitates. I’ve read and I agree to the releted guidelines. T@hmid (T@lk) 13:53, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
I am actively involved in counter-vandalism and recent changes patrol, and TAIV access would help me handle temporary accounts more effectively, especially in identifying repeated abuse. I will use this access strictly in accordance with the WMF policy. Fardin🛸 15:05, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
I do counter-vandalism mainly and would like to request this to investigate temporary accounts. Cheyenne Mountain Complex currently presents an active need. I’ve read and understand the guidelines and will use it accordingly. DarmaniLink (talk) 13:38, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
I’m interested in doing more counter-vandalism work. I’ve been around for about five years and have recently become known as a semi-regular COI-request responder. I started to get particularly interested in counter-vandalism work after the work I did identifying and reverting subtle and overt vandalism on Talk:Seema_Verma. I’m hoping to use the temporary account IP viewer to look for other coordinated subtle or overt vandalism campaigns. I understand that all access is logged and agree to abide by the rules governing this permission. Likeanechointheforest (talk) 23:45, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
Done, till Jan, feel free to ask for a permanent grant if you see a need for it 🙂 Sohom (talk) 05:48, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
Hello! I’m returning to Wikipedia after a few years away. I’ve been reviewing all the policies and procedures related to AfC, NPP and counter-vandalism as I get back into the swing of things, and having this permission would assist me in these areas. While the permission is not directly connected to these areas, I’m also dipping back into requested moves and content creation, and this permission could occasionally help me out there.
I am currently a rollbacker, pending changes reviewer, new page reviewer and page mover. I have reviewed the relevant policy over on Meta and will fully abide by all the guidelines set out. Happy to clarify any questions or concerns! echidnalives – talk – edits 01:16, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

I am a long term contributor to Wikipedia, sometimes engaged in vandal fighting and recent changes patrol. While I’m thinking from my experience with TAs so far (I’ve increased my vandal patrolling activities recently to observe first hand the effects of TA implementation) that viewing the underlying IPs of run-of-the-mill vandals and good faith users isn’t necessary, it would be tremendously beneficial when assessing possible sock-puppetry and long term abuse.
