Voting is now open for the WikiProject Military History newcomer of the year and military historian of the year awards for 2025! The top editors will be awarded the coveted Gold Wiki. Cast your votes here and here respectively. Voting closes at 23:59 on 30 December 2025.

The November 2025 edition of the contest department‘s article writing-and-improvement contest had an unusual three-way tie for the top spot. The three editors had 61 points each and were awarded the WikiChevrons. Hog Farm entered 7 articles, with 1 article brought to A class and 4 articles brought to GA class, simongraham entered 11 articles, with 1 article brought to GA class, and Sturmvogel_66 entered 9 articles, with 3 articles brought to GA class.
Zawed finished second with 34 points from 6 articles, 1 brought to GA class. He was awarded the Writer’s Barnstar. The other entry in November was submitted by Djmaschek with 5 points from 1 article.
Monthly totals are applied to the overall 2025 Writers Cup, which will be decided after the close of the December contest.
The December edition of the contest is now open. Please consider submitting your current article projects as entries into this friendly competition. The January 2026 contest, which will begin within a few days of New Year’s Day, will be the starting monthly contest for the new 2026 annual contest.
